Las Vegas Strip casino closes legendary hard rock band residency
The popular hard rock band wraps up its first Las Vegas Strip residency since 2013.

Las Vegas Strip casinos depend on a lot of factors that determine financial success.
Casino gaming revenue, which increased by 5.5% on the Strip in August, is one of the important factors, as well as visitor volume and hotel occupancy rates.
Visitor volume in the Las Vegas area declined in August by 6.7%, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, totaling 3.17 million visitors, down from 3.39 million in August 2024.
Hotel occupancy on the Strip drops
When an area has fewer visitors, hotels suffer and occupancy declines. Las Vegas Strip hotel occupancy declined by 3.6% in August to 81%, compared to 84.6% in August 2024.
Visitor volume and hotel occupancy are important to casinos for attracting guests to their gaming floors and restaurants.
Headliner entertainment is another important feature for luring guests into casinos.
Sold-out residency shows will attract 1,000s of concert fans into hotel-casinos to dine at their restaurants and gamble in their casinos. Casino operators are busy competing to schedule the top music artists in their showrooms and theaters to attract fans.
Major residencies on the Strip in October include Eagles at the Sphere Las Vegas, Rod Stewart at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Donny Osmond at Harrah's Las Vegas, Earth, Wind and Fire at the Venetian Theater at the Venetian Resort, and Lionel Richie at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas.
