Las Vegas Strip casino closes sensational singer’s residency

Las Vegas Strip casino theaters have been busy lately scheduling new music residencies.

Bringing in popular music acts is essential for attracting fans to patronize casino gaming floors and restaurants, as most of these residency shows sell out.

Global superstar singer Leona Lewis will finally perform her first live shows in the U.S., as she has signed to perform her 33-show "A Starry Night" holiday residency at Voltaire in The Venetian Resort Las Vegas beginning Nov. 1 and ending Jan. 3.

Legendary Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty will perform a new residency at Caesars Entertainment's PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Las Vegas, kicking off on New Year's Eve 2025 and continuing Jan. 2-3 and March 18, 20, and 21, 2026.

Def Leppard plays Caesars Palace residency

The Colosseum at Caesars Palace signed hard rock band Def Leppard for its third residency with 12 shows on their Live at Caesars Palace The Las Vegas Residency on Feb. 3-28, 2026.

Red Rocker Sammy Hagar brings his "The Best of All Worlds – Las Vegas Residency" back to Dolby Live at Park MGM on the Strip by popular demand for 11 more shows in March and September 2026.

New Las Vegas Strip residencies coming:

• Leona Lewis, 33 shows, Nov. 1, 2025-Jan. 3, 2026.
• John Fogerty, 6 shows, December 2025, January and March 2026.
• Def Leppard, 12 shows, Feb. 3-28, 2026.
• Sammy Hagar, 11 shows, March and September 2026.

With all of these new residencies coming to the Las Vegas Strip, the casino theaters are also closing residencies that will make room for new engagements.

Janet Jackson closes Resorts World residency

Legendary pop superstar Janet Jackson closes her long-running residency at Resorts World Las Vegas with a final show on Sept. 20.

Tickets for the final show are sold out, but seats are available through Ticketmaster's resale platform, ranging from about $120 in the mezzanine to about $626 in the rear orchestra.

Jackson, in a July statement, said that her September shows would be the final ones in her residency.

Jackson opened her 22-show residency in the 5,000-seat Resorts World Theater with shows on Dec. 30-31, 2024; and Jan. 3 and 4, 2025, then added six shows Feb. 5-15 and another six shows May 21-31, before booking six final shows in September.

Janet Jackson last performed a residency in 2019

The pop singer's previous Vegas Strip residency was her Metamorphosis show at MGM Resorts International's Park MGM from May 17-Aug. 17, 2019.

Jackson, who has won 11 American Music Awards, five Grammy Awards, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, received the Icon Award at the 2025 American Music Awards on May 26.

Other residencies that have closed in recent months include hard rock band Scorpions, which closed its five-show "Coming Home to Las Vegas 60th Anniversary" residency at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, on Aug. 23.

Top residencies closed down:

• Lenny Kravitz, last show Aug. 9.
• Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, last show June 21.
• Kenny Chesney, last show June 21.

Superstar rocker Lenny Kravitz wrapped up his 10-show Blue Electric Light Las Vegas residency at Park MGM's Dolby Live on the Las Vegas Strip on Aug. 9.

Another hard rock band Joan Jett & the Blackhearts closed its first-ever residency at the House of Blues at MGM Resorts International's Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino Las Vegas on June 21.

Country singer Kenny Chesney, who opened his residency on May 22, 2025, closed his groundbreaking 15-show at Sphere Las Vegas residency also on June 21.
