The Malayalam-superhero film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has created quite a buzz with its box-office success, narrative ambition and unique presentation. The film introduces a female superhero rooted in myth and modernity, and captures the imagination of audiences across India(BHARAT). It marks a new wave in Malayalam cinema’s attempt to expand into the superhero genre.
When and where to watch?
Now fans don’t need to wait much longer to stream the film online. The makers have officially revealed that the film will be available on the OTT platform, JioHotstar from October 31 in Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and Marathi languages. The makers took to the official streaming social media channel and wrote, “The world of Lokah unfolds exclusively on JioHotstar, streaming from October 31st.”
The film is directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s production house Wayfarer Films. It features Kalyani Priyadarshan in the title role of Chandra (also called Neeli), a powerful mythic-figure navigating a world that blends folklore and the contemporary.
