In 2022, Bollywood megastar Akshay Kumar struggled to raise a success at the box space of job. His motion photos like Raksha Bandhan and Ram Settu failed terribly each severely moreover commercially. The creep continued into 2023 as Selfiee furthermore underwhelmed. In a recent interview, Selfiee producer Prithviraj Sukumaran disclosed how great the actor charged for the movie.
Prithviraj published that Akshay refused to steal any prices for the project. Whereas speaking to Pinkvilla, he shared, “I genuinely accept as true with produced a movie with Akshay Kumar, sir. He failed to steal a single rupee. He best acknowledged, ‘If the movie makes money, then I’ll steal my remuneration.’ The movie failed to manufacture smartly, and he failed to steal any money.”
Directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Dharma Productions, Magic Frames, Prithviraj Productions, and Cape of Good Motion photos, Selfiee is a remake of the Malayalam movie Using Licence. It aspects Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi within the lead roles, alongside Nushrratt Bharuccha, Diana Penty, Mahesh Thakur, Meghna Malik, Abhimanyu Singh, and Adah Sharma in supporting roles.
Made in an estimated price range of Rs 100 crore, the comedy drama movie garnered mixed-to-antagonistic opinions from viewers. The movie grossed best Rs 24.6 crore worldwide, hence, proving to a box space of job failure.
