MAJOR update from Delhi’s IGI airport, flights stranded at runway, airplanes didn’t take off due to…
Delhi Airport ATC System: A glitch has been detected in the ATC system at Delhi's IGI Airport, resulting in no flights taking off since Friday morning.
A major glitch has occurred at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport following which flights have been halted since Friday morning. Many flights are stranded at the airport and unable to take off. A passenger posted on X around 6:30 am that he had been on a flight for over an hour and a half, but it hadn’t taken off yet. According to media reports, the problem was caused by a glitch in the ATC (Air Traffic Control) system, which authorizes aircraft to take off and land.
A person named Mohit Singh Rathod wrote on X, “Passengers on an Air India(BHARAT) Express flight have been stranded at IGI Airport (T1) for over an hour and a half. According to the pilot, the delay is due to an ATC system failure. The pilot explained that no flights are able to take off due to this glitch. However, passengers are perplexed because they can clearly see other planes operating on the same runway.”
Indigo expresses regret
A passenger named Neha, traveling on an IndiGo flight from Delhi Airport, reported on X that her flight was scheduled for 6:10 am, but had not yet taken off. She said the pilot said it would take about an hour. Neha expressed her displeasure because she had a connecting flight at 10:30 am.
Indigo expressed regret in response to Neha’s post, stating that the flight was delayed due to an ATC issue at Delhi airport. Indigo wrote, “We apologize for the inconvenience. The flight has been delayed due to air traffic congestion at Delhi airport. We assure you that our team is working diligently to get the flight back to flight as soon as possible. We appreciate your cooperation in the meantime.”
