Both paparazzi and social media have become increasingly involved in the lives of Bollywood stars. From their daily routines to brand promotions and other small moments, celebrities share these with fans on Instagram to stay connected. However, this sometimes makes them targets of social media users.
Some celebrities are constantly targeted by trolls, often for their fashion choices or personal relationships. One such name is Malaika Arora, who has faced extensive social media trolling over her divorce from Arbaaz Khan and her relationship and breakup with Arjun Kapoor. Recently, Bollywood’s “Munni” responded to those who label her.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Malaika Arora responded to those who judged her, saying, “It was tough because people love to tell you what you should or shouldn’t be. I was judged for my career, my clothes, my relationships – you name it. But the day I stopped explaining myself was the day I felt free. My biggest takeaway? The only narrative that matters is the one you write for yourself”.
Malaika confessed that she has now set herself free from these judgments. She was previously married to Arbaaz Khan and then was dating Arjun Kapoor. A few months ago, it was confirmed that the duo have broken up. Malaika spoke about all these stereotypes and the judgements that came her way. She said, “It was tough because people love to tell you what you should or shouldn’t be.
She added, “I’ve been called too bold, too outspoken, too everything. And honestly? I wear it like a crown now. If I’m “too much” for someone, they’re probably not enough for me”.
I’ve always believed that real confidence comes when you stop performing for the world and start living for yourself.” Malaika also gave a mantra to be more confident and said, “Self-doubt is human, it never really disappears. There are days when I question myself, just like anyone else. But over the years, I’ve learned to meet those moments with kindness rather than criticism. Confidence, for me, isn’t about never doubting, it’s about moving forward with grace despite it.”
