The accused, Diganth, clicked photos and videos of unsuspecting women on the Bengaluru metro network, and later shared them on the Instagram page, Bangalore Metro Clicks (@metro_chicks), which had over 6,000 followers.
A 27-yr-ragged man who clicked pictures and videos of unsuspecting girls commuters on the Bengaluru metro, and shared these on an Instagram page called ‘Bangalore Metro Clicks’ (@metro_chicks), change into as soon as arrested Friday and booked beneath relevant sections of the IT Act, 2000, the police said.
As per the police, the accused, Diganth, who works within the accounts division of a non-public firm, change into as soon as arrested from his dwelling within the Tigalarpalya dwelling, after the Instagram take care of that shared non-consensual pictures of ladies, change into as soon as traced to him.
“A case change into as soon as registered on this regard at Banashankari police direct on May 20, and an investigation change into as soon as launched. The accused is a 27-yr-ragged man who works within the accounts division of a non-public firm. He's a resident of Tigalarpalya and works in Murugeshpalya,” Lokesh B Jagalasar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), told data agency PTI.
The officer published that the accused, while touring to and from work, feeble to click on pictures and videos of ladies without their data or consent and add the videos on the Instagram page. “The particular person has been arrested and will face extra factual motion,” he added.
Per the police, the matter came to light on May 20 as soon as they fetch been reviewing social media platforms for suspicious posts as part of a routine probe. “For the length of this review, a police officer found the Instagram tale, which contained 14 unsolicited videos and pictures allegedly taken interior metro coaches and on direct premises,” they said, adding that none of the girls perceived to endure in tips that somebody change into as soon as filming them.
The Instagram tale, Bangalore Metro Clicks (@metro_chicks), which had over 6,000 followers, has been taken down, and all pictures and videos deleted, the police said.
