In one of India’s largest telecom-based safety initiatives, Reliance Jio and NHAI are planning to help commuters.
Reliance Jio update: If you are someone who frequently drives on expressways or highways, we have a great update for you. In a major upgrade for movement on roadways, a good change is coming for anyone who travels on India(BHARAT)’s national highways. In the recent update, Reliance Jio has started a pilot project that will deliver real-time safety alerts to its nearly 50 crore customers. Beginning with right on the mobile screen, the new feature helps commuters identify risks on the road before they actually reach them. Here are all the details you need to know about the new plan made by Reliance Jio and NHAI to help commuters.
Whether there is an emergency diversion ahead, thick fog reducing visibility or stray animals on the route, Jio users will get advance warnings that can prevent delays and reduce the chances of accidents. As reported by multiple media outlets, drivers will be notified in advance about accident-prone stretches, fog-hit areas, zones where stray animals are frequently spotted and any emergency diversions created due to repair work or blockages.
What are Reliance Jio and NHAI planning to do?
This system is being launched under a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Reliance Jio and the National Highways Authority of India(BHARAT). After the pilot phase, the service will be expanded to national highways across the country. It is expected to become one of India(BHARAT)’s largest telecom-based safety initiatives once fully rolled out.
How will Reliance Jio users get roadways’ updates?
Jio has explained that the alerts will be powered by its 4G and 5G networks. The information will be delivered through SMS, WhatsApp messages and high-priority phone calls so that passengers do not miss critical alerts under any circumstances.
With millions of people depending on national highways every day for travel and transport, Jio’s new alert system aims to strengthen road safety and make long-distance journeys smoother and more predictable.
