Meet actor who got role in a blockbuster film with his walk, impressed the director, actor is…, film is…
From a casual walk into a garage to Bollywood superstardom, this is how one actor’s first role was won by sheer presence.

Salman Khan is a superstar who has created his own legacy in the entertainment world. He enjoys a massive fan base that adores him. Having ruled the industry for a long time, the superstar has an interesting story behind his first casting in the 1988 film Biwi Ho To Aisi, directed by J.K. Bihari.
Salman Khan’s First Encounter
During a recent podcast, director J.K. Bihari opened up about the first time he saw Salman Khan. He said, “I was sitting in my garage and noticed a boy walking down the road towards me with a file in his hand. I just judged him by his walk that I am going to sign him.”
Salman Khan Impressed the Director
While Salman Khan was a young actor struggling to make his place in films, his presence and demeanor impressed J.K. Bihari, who wanted to conduct a screen test for him. He said, “He came and discussed things with me and I agreed. He was surprised. He didn’t mention his father’s name. If he had done that, I may not have cast him.”
Being the son of established writer Salim Khan, Salman never used that leverage, and his humility and willingness to start from the bottom left an indelible mark on J.K. Bihari. The director was worried that the actor would leave behind such a minor role, when he later found out about Salman’s identity. In fact, Salim Khan advised his son to persevere, saying, “You are a new director, he is also new.”
When did Salman Khan Got His First Break?
However, Salman Khan was keen on becoming an actor, so he signed a three-film contract with a producer for a very small amount. “Salman wanted a break, so he agreed to sign on the dotted line,” added JK Bihari. It’s truly inspiring to see how Salman Khan, from a random walk into a garage to becoming one of India(BHARAT)n cinema’s biggest stars, has come a long way.
Salman Khan’s Upcoming Projects
Moreover, Salman Khan’s lineup remains packed with high-octane commercial entertainers like his upcoming and much-awaited war drama, Battle of Galwan, which has already set the internet talking and generated intrigue amongst the audience ever since the first look was out. A reunion with Kabir Khan, especially one involving Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2, could mark a shift towards the emotionally resonant storytelling that defined their earlier work together.
