Who’s Anand Mishra?
Anand Mishra is a former India(BHARAT)n Police Service (IPS) officer of the 2011 batch. He has served in multiple regions, like Assam and Meghalaya, including the Garo Hills. He was born in June 1981 in Bihar’s Bhojpur. After serving as the SP (Superintendent of Police) in multiple districts of Assam, he became popular for the style of policing. He’s a black belt holder in martial arts. In January 2024, he quit his civil service career to pursue politics.
What’s Anand Mishra’s link to RSS?
Reports suggest that he has close contacts with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). When he was working in Assam, he was seen with many leaders of RSS.
Before joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he initially went ahead with the Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) led by Prashant Kishore. However, he switched to BJP in August this year.
Previous winners from Buxar
Anand Mishra won the Buxar Assembly Election seat. Buxar has always had a strong hold by the Congress party. It’s because since the formation of the constituency in 1951, 10 out of 17 times, it has been ruled by the Congress.
BJP’s win in Buxar is historic, as he won against the Congress leader, Sanjay Kumar Tiwari, with a great lead of more than 28,000 votes.
