Modi government declares explosion at Delhi’s Red Fort a ‘terror incident’, cabinet passes resolution
"The country has witnessed a heinous terrorist incident perpetrated by anti-national forces through a car explosion near Red Fort on 10th November," Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said during a Cabinet briefing.
New Delhi: The Modi government on Wednesday passed a resolution condemning the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort as a “terrorist incident”. “The country has witnessed a heinous terrorist incident perpetrated by anti-national forces through a car explosion near Red Fort on 10th November,” Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said during a Cabinet briefing. Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded a Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting to review the situation and assess the ongoing probe into the attack.
The minister futher said: “The Cabinet directs that the investigation into the incident be pursued with utmost urgency and professionalism, so that the perpetrators, their collaborators and their sponsors are identified and brought to justice without delay”.
He said the Cabinet unequivocally condemned the dastardly and cowardly act and “reiterates India(BHARAT)’s unwavering commitment to a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations”.
“The cabinet unequivocally condemns this dastardly and cowardly act that has led to the loss of innocent lives. The cabinet reiterates India(BHARAT)’s unwavering commitment to a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The cabinet also recorded its appreciation for the statements of solidarity and support from many governments around the world,” the minister said.
Viashnaw said: “The Cabinet reiterates India(BHARAT)’s unwavering commitment to a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”
