Muslims of Pakistan and Bangladesh are part of one ummah: ‘Maulana Diesel’
He described Islam as the most important link connecting the two countries.
New Delhi: The Bangladesh government of Muhammad Yunus is committed to implementing an Islamic agenda in the country. To this end, Muhammad Yunus has openly joined hands with Pakistan, Bangladesh’s historical enemy. Bangladesh’s doors were already open to officials from the Pakistani military and the intelligence agency ISI. Now, Maulana Fazlur Rahman, head of Pakistan’s radical Islamic party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), addressed a large religious gathering in Dhaka. During the gathering, he called for stronger ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Islamic Conference in Dhaka
Fazlur Rahman, known as Maulana Diesel, addressed the Khatm-e-Nubuwat at Dhaka’s Suhrabarti Maidan. He stated that the unity of shared religious faith between the two countries is a strong bond that cannot be broken. He described Islam as the most important link connecting the two countries. The entry of a radical Pakistani cleric has made it clear that Muhammad Yunus and fundamentalist forces have joined forces in Bangladesh to work on an Islamic agenda.
Emphasis on Islamic Unity
Maulana Fazlur Rahman emphasised that the Pakistani delegation has come not only to attend the event but also to convey a message of goodwill from the Pakistani people to their Bangladeshi brothers. Referring to Islamic unity, he said, “We Muslims of Pakistan and Bangladesh are part of the same Ummah.” He further stated that all scholars are unanimous in the belief that anyone claiming to be a prophet after Prophet Muhammad is outside the scope of Islam.
The JUI-F chief resolved that if Bangladesh takes one step, Pakistan will take two. He stressed that mutual goodwill and affection between the two countries will continue to strengthen. Fazlur Rahman expressed hope that this conference would act as a catalyst in strengthening relations and cooperation in various fields.
