‘My father is…’: AR Rahman, Saira Banu’s son Ameen BREAKS silence on linking his parents divorce with Mohini Dey
On Friday, AR Rahman's son issued a statement, strongly condemning the gossip and defending his father’s integrity.
AR Rahman and Saira Banu’s separation news left the final industry and fans in shock. Almost instantly after the announcement of their divorce, Rahman’s bassist, Mohini Dey, also revealed her split from her composer husband. This accident sparked wildfire speculation among fans, leading them to attach both events. Amid the swirling rumours, AR Rahman’s son, AR Ameen, sooner or later broke his silence, addressing the baseless claims regarding his father.
On Friday, Ameen issued a statement, strongly condemning the gossip and defending his father’s integrity. He shared a photo of AR Rahman alongside a little one, asking, “What is the adaptation except the age?” Alongside the image, Ameen wrote:
“My father is a legend, no longer only for his incredible contributions but for the values, respect, and love he has earned over the years. It’s disheartening to appear false and baseless rumours being spread. Let us all take into accout the importance of truth and respect when speaking about somebody’s life and legacy.”
He further urged, “Please refrain from engaging in or spreading such misinformation. Let’s honour and preserve his dignity and the incredible impact he has had on all of us.”
Divorce Lawyer Clarifies Speculations
Vandana Shah, the divorce lawyer representing AR Rahman and Saira Banu, also disregarded any link between the couple’s separation and Mohini Dey. Speaking to ETimes, she clarified:
“There's no connection at all. Saira and Mr Rahman made this decision on their own.”
She further added, “Every long marriage goes through u.s.a.and downs, and I am extremely happy that if it has come to an end, it has done so in a dignified manner. Both Rahman and Saira will continue to enhance each and every other and want each and every other well.”
But it surely, Shah refrained from disclosing the explanation within the back of the divorce, emphasizing:
“Both of them are extremely genuine, and this decision become no longer taken lightly. It is miles no longer what you in all probability can possibly call a sham marriage.”
Both AR Rahman and Saira Banu have handled the situation with grace, urging people to respect their privacy and focal point on their individual legacies in place of baseless speculations.
