New Delhi–New York in just ONE minute, NASA achieves Massive success, probe breaks speed limits, reaches closer to…
NASA said that Parker’s discoveries will help humans understand the Sun better. NASA also reveal how solar events can impact astronauts, satellites, air travel, and Earth’s power grids.

New Delhi: In a major development, NASA’s Parker Solar Probe made history on Thursday as its spacecraft successfully completed its 25th flyby, coming extremely close to the Sun. According to the reports, even after losing contact with Earth, the probe continued to control its operations on its own and re-established communication with the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in USA’s Maryland.
The spacecraft approached the Sun at nearly 687,000 kilometers per hour. It had earlier reached this same speed in December 2024, March 2025, and June 2025. During this flyby, Parker once again touched its previous record speed. Interestingly, at this speed, it would cover the distance between Delhi and New York in just 61 seconds, while today’s flights take 15 to 17 hours for the same trip.
Here are some of the key details:
- The purpose of Parker is to solve many mysteries of the Sun
- Mysteries such as where solar wind originates, why the Sun’s outer atmosphere is hotter than its surface, and how massive clouds of plasma are formed.
- NASA said that Parker’s discoveries will help humans understand the Sun better
- NASA also reveal how solar events can impact astronauts, satellites, air travel, and Earth’s power grids.
This mission was launched in 2018 and is part of NASA’s Living With a Star Programme. So far, Parker has flown past Venus several times, gradually reducing its path closer to the Sun.
