Welcome To The Future – AI-Based Self-Delivery Become Reality: In a major step towards futuristic logistics, the United Arab Emirates has recently introduced the first pilot for autonomous delivery vehicles in its capital city – Abu Dhabi. The Smart and Autonomous Systems Council on Monday issued its first license plate for an AI-assisted self-driving delivery vehicle. As per media reports, the driverless autonomous delivery vehicles have started delivering items across Abu Dhabi. These futuristic autonomous vehicles are built by Autogo. The company is a subsidiary of the city-based K2 and will run its operations in partnership with EMX, the logistics company of Emirates Post – 7X.

What Is The Technology Behind These Autonomous Delivery Vehicles?

As per Abu Dhabi Media Office, these vehicles are loaded with artificial intelligence and smart mobility systems to safely run on city streets. They can perform delivery work without the need for human drivers.

Are These Driverless Vehicles Delivering Items Across Abu Dhabi?

Notably, the pilot programme of these AI-based autonomous delivery vehicles has been started in Masdar City – an urban community in Abu Dhabi. If successful, the full-scale commercial service will be start across the capital.

According to Abdulla Hamad AlGhfeli, Acting Director General of Abu Dhabi Mobility, the launch of these futuristic vehicles is more than a technical test. “This project is not just a technical trial but part of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen smart logistics, leverage advanced technologies to reduce emissions and congestion, and improve quality of life in our cities,” he said.

Tariq Al Wahedi, Group CEO of 7X, stated that 7X is planning to introduce a delivery model that is faster, safer, more adaptable. The model will be more sustainable as compare to current models. The delivery model will be in line with the UAE’s green economy plans.
