‘Opposition spreading lies on SIR for four months, first SIR conducted in 1952’, says Amit Shah

New Delhi: In a war of words, Home Minister Amit Shah has blamed Congress party for defaming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) while addressing the winter session of Parliament. The Home Minister has also said the first SIR was conducted under first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in 1952 under Congress rule. Here are all the details you need to know about what Home Minister Amit Shah has said during his speech in the Parliament about SIR and related things.

What Home Minister Amit Shah said on SIR?

Speaking on electoral reforms, in Lok Sabha, Union HM Amit Shah said, “…For four months, one-sided lies were spread about SIR. Attempts were made to mislead the people of the country…”.

Amit Shah blames Rahul Gandhi of spreading fake news

“Rahul Gandhi said there are 501 votes in a single house in Haryana. The EC clarified it saying that House 265 is not a small house and one family is spread over one acre. The house doesn’t have a number and three generations have been living in the house. They are neither fake house, not fraud voters. The debate on SIR cannot happen in Parliament. Because the issue is with the Election Commission. The Election Commission doesn’t work with the government”, HM Amit Shah added in his speech.

“The Leader of the Opposition tells me to first respond to his questions. The Parliament won’t function as per your wishes. I will decide what to speak. The Parliament won’t function in this way. He should have the patience to listen to my answers,” Amit Shah further said.
