OxygenOS 16 update is here: Full list of supported OnePlus phones and key features

OnePlus has recently announced the official OxygenOS 16 update based on Android 16. The new update will feature various cosmetic changes and an underlying performance tweaks as well. The new OxygenOS 16 update, as per the post, is based on Google’s Material 3 Expressive design language.

The company also provided a major feature highlights for users to keep track. The new update will start rolling out from November 2025 and it will be delivered to users in batches.

OxygenOS 16 Features

1. Visual Design Improvements

The OxygenOS 16 will primarily feature two kinds of UI Design language based on changes in the visual appeal. These two categories are-

Breathe With You: This will make changes to the visuals of the core system making it feel a more unified and fluid experience

Thrive with Free Expression: This will provide users with more options to customize their device

As for the changes, OnePlus has brought Gaussian blur to multiple UI areas in OxygenOS 16. With this effect, the operating system sports a Liquid Glass-like design. The new update will also feature a translucent floating bottom bar in the default built-in Photos app and also on the home screen search bar, the app drawer and recents screen. These elements will closely resemble iOS 26 from Apple.

2. Customizable Quick Settings

In OxygenOS 16, the company has provided users with an option to customize their quick tiles in Quick Settings. Moreover, the two buttons for edit and three-dot menu were located at the bottom of the panel but in OxygenOS 16, they have been moved to the top which makes more sense and intuitive.

3. AI-Powered Features

Some of the AI-powered features in OxygenOS 16 include-

Private Computing Cloud: This feature will only use the user’s data locally for on-device processing and will not share any information with third-party services.

AI Writer Toolkit: This will provide tools for users to generate a mind map, draft emails, create captions for social media posts and improve or fix their text. The toolkit will also support users in making charts

Mind Space: This feature will help users bring scattered information to one place

4. Live Alerts and Updates

OnePlus OxygenOS 16 will bring improvements in Live Alerts feature, which is the pill-shaped area near the selfie camera which has important information for the users. However, now it can receive an update from apps via the new Live Updates API which will provide information to Live Alerts in real-time. Google Maps, for instance, will be able to provide information like how far it is to the destination and turn-by-turn updates directly in the Live Alerts area on screen.

OxygenOS 16 Rollout and Expected Devices

The new OxygenOS 16 update will arrive in phases. The list of OnePlus devices that will be eligible for the update as per the post are:

November 2025: OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 13 Pro, OnePlus 13 CE, OnePlus Open, OnePlus Pad 2

December 2025: OnePlus 11R 5G, OnePlus 11 CE 5G, OnePlus Nord CE 5G, OnePlus Nord CE 5G Lite

Q1 2026: OnePlus 10 Pro 5G, OnePlus 10 CE 5G, OnePlus Pad Lite

OxygenOS 16 looks like a major update for OnePlus users. The list of phones which will get the update are yet to be completely unfolded. The new update will be available in batches as said by the company.
