Pakistan distances from Trump Gaza Peace Plan, says they had proposed a different version; what will US and Israel do now?
Trump stated that if Hamas doesn’t agree to this plan, Israel has the right to destroy it.

New Delhi: Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday, 03 October 2025, distanced Islamabad from US President Doland Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan, saying his country had proposed a different version. Dar, who is also the country’s deputy prime minister, made the remarks while speaking at Pakistan’s National Assembly.
What did Ishaq Dar say?
Interestingly, Dar’s remarks come days after Trump praised Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir for backing his Gaza peace proposal, calling the two “incredible” leaders.
“I made it clear that the 20 points that President Trump made public are not ours. Changes were made to our draft. I have the record,” Dar told the Pakistan National Assembly, as reported by news agency ANI. “This is the end result, and there is no room for politicking.”
Muslim and Arab countries meet Trump
Eight Muslim and Arab countries, Jordan, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkiye (Turkey), Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt, held a meeting with Trump on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York over the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, said Dar. During the meeting, Dar said the US President gave a positive response, assuring them he would work on a ‘workable solution’.
“President Trump’s committee also came and open talks were held on what they wanted. They gave us a 20-point proposal,” Dar told the Pakistani National Assembly. “We held different meetings in the next 24 hours. We were exchanging hard copies in hotel rooms.”
Netanyahu agreed to Gaza ceasefire
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to a ceasefire in Gaza. Netanyahu met with US President Doland Trump in Washington, DC, on Monday, September 29. The two leaders then held a press conference to discuss the matter. Trump has prepared a 20-point plan for a ceasefire.
Trump stated that if Hamas doesn’t agree to this plan, Israel has the right to destroy it, and the US will support it.
Trump Gaza Peace Plan
US President Doland Trump’s peace proposal to end the Israel-Gaza war has sparked a political crisis in the Arab-Muslim world as a large section of Muslims in these countries have expressed their anger and disapproval of Islamic nations like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia approving Trump’s Gaza plan.
Why Muslims are angry at Pakistan and Arab nations?
According to reports, a significant portion of Muslims in the Arab world and beyond believe that Pakistan and Arab nations like Saudi Arabia and Qatar have “betrayed” the Palestinian cause, because Trump’s Gaza peace plan lacks a proper roadmap for Palestinian statehood, and mandates the complete disarmament of Hamas, which they believe would strip Palestine of any security cover in a future Israeli attack, even if current crisis is resolved temporarily.
Many have dubbed Pakistan and Arab world as ‘traitors of the Muslim Ummah’, accusing these countries of “betrayal” of fellow Muslims and “turning their back” on the people of Palestine.
