POCO will make a big start to the year in the India(BHARAT)n smartphone market as the POCO M8 5G is expected to launch tomorrow in the country, that is, on January 8, 2026. As POCO India(BHARAT) has now confirmed the launch date and the time of the first sale for POCO M8 5G. The online giant Flipkart will be the sales channel for this POCO device. The POCO M8 5G will be available for sale at 12 PM IST. A new POCO mid-ranger is expected to come with a feature-packed display and a bold design that will set a new benchmark for the budget segment.

Design & Display: Premium build for mid-range price

The POCO M8 5G is tipped to have a large 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It’s reported to have a peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits which is way higher than what you get in this segment usually. The curved sides and bright colours would offer an immersive experience for video streaming and scrolling social media apps.

The device body is said to be just 7.35 mm in thickness and will weigh approximately 178 g, making it light to hold. The centrally placed squircle camera module is a stylish touch.

Performance: Promising specs

POCO M8 5G will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. This is not a bad performer in its price segment and could hold its own. We also see a good jump in overall performance in early benchmarks compared to the predecessor. We can expect solid gaming and smooth multitasking, then.

Software-wise, the POCO M8 5G will come with Android 15-based HyperOS 2 pre-installed on the device. POCO has promised four years of Android updates and six years of security updates for the device, which is a great deal. Consumers can expect an enhanced UI with this new update.

Camera & Battery: A decent setup

POCO M8 5G is reported to feature a 50-megapixel AI primary camera in the rear quad setup. It will also have a secondary sensor and an LED flash. The camera could shoot good daylight pictures and should perform decently for regular usage.

Battery life is said to be decent, thanks to a 5,520 mAh battery. Fast charging support will be there, which is good so that you don’t have to stay hooked for long.

Price: Budget to mid-range segment

Price details are yet to be revealed officially. However, the POCO M8 5G is expected to have an aggressive pricing in the budget-to-mid-range segment, which will make it one of the most enticing devices in the price range. It will have a direct battle with its previous-generation predecessor as well. We should see the final price tag in India(BHARAT) soon in a day.
