What the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use said
The Federal Agency for Subsoil Use (Rosnedra) told TASS that, on average, countries and mineral developers discover about 200 new solid mineral deposits each year. This year, the pattern has been similar, with more than 200 deposits already discovered and added to the national reserves register.
Potassium-magnesium reserves of 1 billion and 2 billion tons
Rosnedra highlighted several major discoveries in 2025, including the Ivanikhinskoye and Tselinnoye deposits of potassium-magnesium salts in the Saratov region, with estimated reserves of 1 billion tons and 2 billion tons, respectively. Another major discovery was the Zhidoiskoye deposit in Irkutsk, which contained millions of tons of titanium, phosphorus, and iron ore.
770 tons of silver in the reserves
According to TASS, Rosnedra also mentioned a deposit in the Trans-Baikal region, estimated to contain 699.6 tons of silver, and a deposit in Magadan containing 70.5 tons of silver. Magadan Oblast is located in the northeastern part of Russia and borders the Sea of Okhotsk.
These deposits are in the Kamchatka and Khabarovsk regions.
It is characterized by the offset (the line from which the distance to a point is measured) of the mountainous Kolyma region in the east and the Chersky Range (up to 2,586 meters high) in the middle, as well as large lowlands in the southeast.
