'Reina Roja' Trailer Out: Woman with an IQ of 242 sets out to investigate a gruesome murder
The makers of the highly anticipated Spanish series ‘Reina Roja‘ have finally unveiled the trailer of the show with an official poster on social media. Directed by Koldo Serra alongside Julian de Tavira, the seven-episode show is the TV adaptation of the first book in Juan Gomez-Jurado’s hit trilogy.
Featuring actors like Vicky Luengo and Hovik Keuchkerian in the lead roles, it is followed by many others like Andrea Trepat, Celia Freijeiro, Nacho Fresneda, Vicenta N’Dongo, Karmele Larrinaga, Pere Braso, and Fernando Guallar, among others, in prominent roles.
Besides the intriguing poster of the show, the makers also unveiled the official trailer, which gives a glimpse into the thrilling journey of Antonia Scott (Vicky Luengo), a 34-year-old woman with an IQ of 242. Noting that she is the smartest person on Earth, the trailer further plays to show her being tagged as the ‘Red Queen’ of a secret and experimental police project.
However, things took a turn for the worse after her intelligence, which seemed like a gift, turned out to be a curse, and she ended up losing hold of everything.
The trailer begins by showing the gruesome murder of a powerful tycoon’s son and then the kidnapping of a wealthy man’s man. This is when the Red Queen organisation is set in motion, and Antonia’s former boss turns to John Gutierrez (Hovik Keuchkerian), a hot-tempered cop, to reactivate Antonia and stay by her side as a shadow.
The trailer also shows Antonia and John going on an investigative spree while also getting along together as they explore the city of Madrid. The dynamics of the protagonist duo as they work against the clock will definitely keep you hooked!
The environment, the chases, the gruesome murder, the monkey attacks, and, of course, Antonia’s superlative intelligence are what form the story of the trailer.
Reina Roja is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 29 February 2024.
