How Much Did It Take To Be Ready?
Initially, the Lulu Group International planned to build a mall in Thiruvananthapuram’s Pattom and sanctioned a budget of Rs 500 crore. Later, the group dropped the plan and purchased 46 acres of land along the highway in Akkulam. Surprising, the company decided to build a larger mall with a budget of Rs 2,000 crore.
The construction started in 2016, but due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the work was halted. The company spent an additional Rs 220 crore to the project. This increased the final cost of the mall to Rs 2,220 crore.
