Salman Khan and Arijit Singer Controversy
According to reports, the rift between Salman and Arijit occurred almost ten years ago at the Star Guild Awards. Arijit came on stage to receive an award after becoming popular for his song Tum Hi Ho. While receiving his award, Salman, hosting the event, asked Arijit, “So gaye the [Were you sleeping]?” Surprised, Arijit jokingly replied, “You guys put me to sleep.” Apparently, Salman didn’t like the remark, which was intended in light humour by Arijit.
In 2016, Arijit took to his social media and apologised to Salman Khan, sharing that he never meant to disrespect him, and all this happened because of a misunderstood humour. The singer’s apology post went viral, with fans prompting the actor to accept his apology. Following that, none of them publicly addressed the matter to date.
However, the silence was finally broken when Arijit lent his voice to ‘Le Ke Prabhu Ka Naam’ from Tiger 3 (2023), a move that indicated toward restoring harmony.
