Who doesn’t know Salman Khan’s work and his filmography? He has been giving back-to-back hits with movies Dabangg, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger, Sultan. But do you recognize there became a time when most of his movies flopped? 2004, 2005 and 2006 had films like Garv: Pride & Honour, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Phir Milenge, Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa, Lucky: No Time for Love, Kyon Ki, Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar, Salaam-e-Ishq, etc. that didn’t work. Salman Khan became going through a rough patch in his career, with one flop film after every other. The continuous box place of business failures led to massive losses for filmmakers, amounting to crores of rupees.

In 2007, Salman Khan picked a script where he portrayed Love Guru. The movie is Partner that also featured Govinda, Katrina Kaif, and Lara Dutta. Directed by David Dhawan, the movie became a critical and commercial blockbuster. Made on a budget of around 28 crore, it collected Rs A hundred.ninety one crore (US$12 million) worldwide and became the fourth very best-grossing Hindi film of 2007. This movie proved to be Salman Khan’s lifeline in Bollywood. Now now not just the movie, 18,00,000 units of soundtrack album were also sold.

In Partner, it became the chemistry between Salman and Govinda which carried the film through. The movie left the target audience gasping for breath. It became musical, stylish, funny and more. Despite being an official remake of Will Smith starrer hit comedy Hitch, it became adapted to suit the palate of the Indian target audience.
