Recently, after his demise, Ratna Pathak, his Sarabhai vs Sarabhai co-star who plays his wife as Maya Sarabhai, penned an emotional tribute, recalling her last conversation with him.
Satish Shah’s last message to Ratna Pathak
Expressing her emotions, Ratna Pathak wrote a heartfelt piece where she shared the last conversation she had with Satish Shah just a few hours before his demise 25. She revealed that at 12:57 PM, she received a WhatsApp message from Satish that read, “I’m often mistaken for an adult because of my age.” Ratna replied at 2:14 PM, writing, “That’s just right for you!”
Barely two hours later, at 3:49 PM, she received a shocking message from producer JD Majethia, which read, “Satishbhai is no more!”
Recalling that moment she learned about Satish’s death, Ratna wrote, “At first, it felt like someone was pulling a fast one in terrible taste. As it sank in, it became even more unbelievable. Satish is gone! A man determined to live life more fully, laugh at it, take every blow on the chin, and come out smiling, gone!”
The heartbreaking news of Satish Shah’s death left the entire industry, his fans, and the Sarabhai family stunned. Ratna also shared how their mutual friends frantically messaged each other, trying to process the tragedy. Many had also received lighthearted messages from Satish that same day, none realising it would be his last.
End of an Era of Effortless Comedy
Satish Shah, whose cause of death was initially suggested to be kidney failure, but his co-star Rajesh Kumar clarified that the real cause was sudden cardiac arrest. He reportedly collapsed at home during lunch and was rushed to the hospital, where efforts to revive him failed.
Satish Shah, who is not in this world today, will always be remembered through his timeless roles and will remain alive in our thoughts and memories.
