Veteran actor Satish Shah, renowned for his unforgettable roles in both television and cinema, passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 74. Satish Shah, best known for his iconic roles in the cult classic Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, succumbed to death after kidney failure. He had undergone a kidney transplant a few months ago to stay fit and care for his wife, Madhu, who is battling Alzheimer’s. His family and friends gathered on Monday to celebrate his remarkable life and career at a prayer meeting filled with emotion and remembrance.

Amongst the familiar faces from the industry and his friends and family coming together for his prayer meet to pay their tribute was his ailing wife, Madhu Shah, who was visibly frail and devastated. Paying an emotional tribute to her husband, Madhu was seen humming Shah’s favourite song ‘Tere Mere Sapne,’ from Guide with Sonu Nigam.

Friends, Family, and Co-Stars Remember the Legend

JD Majethia, the producer of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, also paid tribute through a heartfelt Instagram post. His caption read:

“Celebrating the life of #satishshah was the intention to give him the befitting tribute from family & friends. His favourite songs, chosen over the usual bhajans keeping his preference in mind, were sung. This song was also to convey what Madhu Bhabhi’s last words of the song are. WATCH TILL THE END to know what we all wish to promise #satishshah. Hum sang hai…”

The news of Satish Shah’s death was first announced by his manager, Ramesh Kadatala, who said, “It was around lunchtime, around 2 pm. He was eating lunch and collapsed after having one bite. The ambulance arrived after half an hour, and we took him to the hospital, where he was declared dead.”

An Emotional Goodbye

Mourning his demise, JD Majethia said, “This is a big loss. He was a very knowledgeable person. I spoke to him the day before yesterday. He was absolutely fit, but we couldn’t meet him that day, as he said he was very tired and wanted to sleep.”

Satish Shah’s prayer meet showcased the number of lives he touched with his warmth and work. While the star has left for the heavenly adobe, he will always stay alive in our thoughts and memory through his iconic work.
