A clash that erupted in Tarana of the Ujjain district on Thursday night turned into a full-fledged violence by Friday afternoon. The intensity of the riots was so brutal that two buses were set ablaze along with a shop. Many residents were assaulted by the unidentified men. The situation escalated when the stone-pelting began near the temple area. The clash resulted in the injury of one person. The police authorities have arrested 15 individuals so far. Alongside, the administration is working closely to restore peace in the region and has imposed Article 144 to maintain public order.
How did the clash erupt?
The police authorities reported that the violent clashes emerged in the tehsil area of Tarana in Ujjain district on Thursday night. The situation became worse when the crowd became intensely aggressive and started to throw stones at the buses and shops. The stone pelting was also done at the bus stand. The violence soon led to setting buses and a shop ablaze. Later, the clash happened in the Shukla Mohalla area and the shops around the region, as per reports.

Officials reached the spot
Soon after the violence erupted, some senior officials, like the Superintendent of Police, the collector, the Additional District Magistrate, along with the Additional Superintendent of Police SP Guru Prasad Parashar, ran to the place of the clash.
After observing the spot, the ASP mentioned that the violence began in the area of Shukla Mohalla. He added that a 22-year-old man was attacked while he was standing near a temple. The complaint filed has the names of multiple individuals, like Eeshan Mirza, Sappan Mirza, Shadab, Salman Mirza, and Naved.
Buses and shops set ablaze
Many buses and shops were vandalised by the anti-social elements in the region. The two were later set ablaze by them. According to the reports, the violence restarted when many people from Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal began to protest at the police station. They also recited the Hanuman Chalisa during their protests at the police station.
