Severe Heatwave Alert Issued In Delhi, Uttar Pradesh Today; IMD Predicts Rain In These States

IMD Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave to severe heatwave alert for Saturday, June 15, in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Jharkhand, and Punjab. It added that heatwave conditions are expected to prevail in Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, and Bihar today. The weather department stated on Friday that the Southwest Monsoon is set to advance in states like Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal in the next four days. According to the weather bulletin, heatwave conditions are likely in Himachal Pradesh and the Jammu Division till Monday, in Madhya Pradesh till Sunday, and in Chhattisgarh today.

IMD Weather Update: Heatwave Warning

The weather agency issued a severe heatwave alerts for parts of north India majorly for Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, and Punjab.
“Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions very likely in many/ most parts of Uttar Pradesh, in some/many parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi during 14th-18th; western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar on 14th; Jharkhand and Uttarakhand during 14th-15th and isolated heat wave conditions over western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar on 15th; Jharkhand & Uttarakhand on 16 June, ” IMD said.

IMD Weather Update: Monsoon

According to weather predictions by IMD, the folks in the northeastern regions may need their raincoats ready for an upcoming period of stormy weather. Brewing thunderstorms, lightning and robust winds are foreseen. Areas including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, and Sikkim can anticipate light to average rainfall, likely lasting until June 21st.
The weather department also predicted downpours in Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till 19 June.

“Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning & gusty winds (40-50 kmph) likely over Konkan & Goa and scattered rainfall over Madhya Maharashtra & Marathwada during next 5 days,” IMD bulletin stated.

IMD Weather Update: Monsoon In South India

Based on IMD’s weather predictions, they’re expecting that Kerala will be hit with notable rainfall on the 17th and 18th of June. Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka too aren’t exempt, both slated to expect showers on June 17. Meanwhile, Maharashtra is looking at rainy weather for the next few days, and Goa should brace for downpours on June 17 and 18.
