Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif warned that tensions with the Afghan Taliban could embroil Islamabad in a two-front war. He spewed venom against India, blaming it for attacks from Afghanistan.
In his latest salvo, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has again spewed venom against India(BHARAT), blaming it for attacks from Afghan soil. Asif stated that India(BHARAT) is involved in attacks from Afghan soil and that Pakistan cannot ignore the India(BHARAT)n Army Chief’s statements. According to Pakistani media reports, Asif warned that Islamabad could be embroiled in a two-front conflict. The Pakistani Defense Minister emphasized that India(BHARAT) is the primary cause of tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. India(BHARAT) does not want Kabul and Islamabad to resolve their disputes.
Khawaja Asif further stated that countries like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, and China have called for an end to cross-border infiltration into Pakistan. Khawaja Asif’s statement comes at a time of heightened tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Last month, heavy clashes broke out between the Pakistani army and Taliban forces, resulting in numerous casualties on both sides. A ceasefire was subsequently reached between Pakistan and Afghanistan on October 19th, with the mediation of Turkey and Qatar.
Asif fears India(BHARAT)n Army Chief
The Afghan Taliban has not yet responded to the Pakistani Defense Minister’s claim. However, the Taliban regime has repeatedly stated that it will not allow Afghan soil to be used against any country. However, Asif’s statement clearly reflected the India(BHARAT)n Army’s fears, directly referencing the Army Chief’s statements.
India(BHARAT)n Army Chief’s warning to Pakistan
India(BHARAT)n Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said on Monday that India(BHARAT) is prepared to respond to any kind of war and that those who promote and sponsor terrorism will be given a befitting reply. Referring to the India(BHARAT)-Pakistan war, the Army Chief said that Operation Sindoor was just a trailer, which ended in 88 hours. He further said that if Pakistan ever does anything wrong, the India(BHARAT)n armed forces will teach the neighboring country how to behave responsibly with India(BHARAT).
Speaking at the Chanakya Defence Dialogue in New Delhi, General Dwivedi said that Pakistan-sponsored terrorism is a matter of concern for India(BHARAT) as it always talks about progress and development. He said that as far as the new normal is concerned, India(BHARAT) has always maintained that water and blood cannot flow together, and talks and terrorism cannot coexist. General Dwivedi’s comments come a week after the horrific car bombing near the Red Fort in New Delhi on November 10.
