Student of the Year actor arrested at Chennai Airport
As per media reports, the Air Intelligence Unit at Chennai Airport received a tip-off. Following this, the actor, who returned from Singapore on Sunday morning, was stopped at the airport. It is the same actor who played small roles in Karan Johar’s film, Student of the Year. During the search, counterfeit oil was found in his checked-in luggage trolley. It contained a white powder hidden in a plastic packet, which was likely to be cocaine.
3.5 kg of Cocaine recovered
It is reported that a field drug test confirmed it to be cocaine. The actor was also detained, and during interrogation, it was revealed that he had travelled to Chennai from Cambodia via Singapore. Reports also stated that the actor claimed that unknown individuals in Cambodia had handed him the trolley so that he could hand it over to a receiver at the Chennai airport.
However, officials suspect that this consignment of drugs was headed to Mumbai or Delhi to be handed over to a larger drug network. Currently, the DRI is investigating this entire network, and customs teams are examining his past travels to determine if he has previously been involved in drug trafficking.
