Tarn Taran By-Election Result: The counting of votes for Punjab’s Tarn Taran by-election is still underway. As per the latest trends, Harmeet Singh Sandhu from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is leading with over 9,000 votes. The main opposition candidates are Sukhwinder Kaur from Shiromani Akali Dal, Karanbir Singh from the India(BHARAT)n National Congress (INC), and Harjit Singh Sandhu from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Who’s leading in Tarn Taran by-election?
After the first round of counting, the Shiromani Akali Dal leader, Sukhwinder Kaur, was leading with almost 3,000 votes in her favour, followed by Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Harmeet Singh Sandhu and India(BHARAT)n National Congress’s Karanbir Singh. This took an overturn after the sixth round of vote counting when AAP’s Harmeet Singh Sandhu emerged with a lead of over 800 votes, leaving Sukhwinder Kaur behind in the race.
The status as of round 13 stated that Harmeet Singh Sandhu was leading with over 11,500 votes against Karanbir Singh and Sukhwinder Kaur.
Who’s Harmeet Singh Sandhu?
Harmeet Singh Sandhu is a politician from Punjab. He’s representing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Previously, he served as the member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly between 2002 and 2017 from Tarn Taran. However, in 2007, he contested the elections as an Akali Dal candidate.
