Finally, Anand L Rai’s much-awaited directorial Tere Ishk Mein was released on November 28, 2025. Headlined by Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, the film is an intense romantic drama that opened with mixed reviews. While some people loved Dhanush’s angry young man lover-boy character, others called it “more toxic than Delhi’s air.” However, it seems that the romantic drama, despite mixed opinions, managed to open with decent numbers. As per industry tracker, Tere Ishk Mein box office collection Day 1 stood at Rs 16.50 crore.

With its opening-day earnings, Tere Ishk Mein has secured the position of the year’s second-biggest romantic opener. Saiyaara continues to lead with Rs 21.5 crore.
Dhanush’s film has left behind big Bollywood films of 2025 such as LLB 3 (Rs 22 crore) and Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 10.70 crore). Not just that, Tere Ishk Mein has also turned out to be the biggest opening movie of Dhanush’s career.
Tere Ishk Mein marks Dhanush’s comeback in Hindi cinema. He was last seen in Raanjhanaa, which turned out to be a massive hit. This film too was directed by Anand L Rai. The South star also did Atrangi Re, which marked his second collaboration with the director.
About Tere Ishk Mein
In Tere Ishk Mein, Dhanush portrays a volatile young man who falls in love with Kriti Sanon’s character, Mukti. Their relationship blossoms during their college days, but she later decides to move on and marry another man.
The soundtrack is composed by AR Rahman, and the film is backed by producers Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar through Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and Colour Yellow Productions.
