‘They have to…’: Trump issues another hostile WARNING to Hamas, threatens ‘eradication’ if…

Gaza ceasefire: US President Doland Trump has threated to “eradicate” Hamas if the Palestinian militant group violates its truce agreement with Israel in Gaza. Trump’s chilling warning came a day after Israel accused Hamas of violating the US-brokered ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

Why Trump warned Hamas?

Talking to reporters in the Oval Office on Monday (US time), Doland Trump addressed recent developments in his peace plan for the Middle East, and stated that Hamas must “behave” or risk being “eradicated”.

“We have peace in the Middle East for the first time ever. We made a deal with Hamas that, they gonna be very good. They’re going to behave, they’re going to be nice, and if they’re not… we’re going to eradicate them if we have to. They’ll be eradicated — and they know that,” the US President warned.

Trump accused Hamas of past violence and suggested the armed group no longer enjoys significant external backing, particularly from Iran.

“They went in and killed a lot of people. They’re violent people. Hamas has been very violent. But they don’t have the backing of Iran anymore. They don’t have the backing of really anybody anymore. They have to be good, and if they’re not good, they’ll be eradicated,” he said, while reiterating that US troops would not be deployed for this purpose, saying “there will no involvement of US forces”.

Did Hamas violate Gaza ceasefire?

On Sunday, Israel had launched fresh airstrikes in Gaza after alleged attacks on Israeli troops by Hamas fighters in southern Gaza. Israeli strikes raised fears of ending the fragile truce with Hamas, but the Jewish state later announced a “renewed enforcement” of the ceasefire agreement.

“In accordance with the directive of the political echelon, and following a series of significant strikes in response to Hamas’ violations, the IDF has begun the renewed enforcement of the ceasefire, in line with the terms of the agreement. The IDF will continue to uphold the ceasefire agreement and will respond firmly to any violation of it,” the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) posted on X.

Following renewed hostilities in Gaza, top White House officials, including US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, while US Vice-President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance are set to visit Israel on Tuesday, Times of Israel reported.

Trump says ‘will go in and kill them’

Earlier, Doland Trump issued a stern warning to Hamas and hinted at possible US military action against the Palestinian armed group if they continue “to kill people” in the embattled Gaza strip.

“If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the Deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them. Thank you for your attention to this matter!,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform on Thursday, days after a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, brokered by him, came into effect in Gaza.

Trump’s remarks comes in the wake of the exchange of fire between Hamas and other groups in Gaza Strip. However, Trump later clarified to reporters in the Oval Office that the US will not put boots on the ground in Gaza, saying “We will not do that. We don’t need to do that.”

The US President also asked Hamas to disarm in compliance with the peace deal, warning that failure to surrender weapons could invite decisive US action.
