Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani’s PK is one of Bollywood’s most acclaimed films. The satirical drama starred Aamir as an alien and explored the complexities of religion, caste, and social norms in India. Curiously, about a years before PK hit the screens, Umesh Shukla’s OMG, starring Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar, explored inserting same themes. The film used to be an adaptation of the most common Gujarati play Kanji Virudh Kanji.
Paresh Rawal currently shared an though-provoking issue that Rajkumar Hirani and his co-writer Abhijiat Joshi were frequent attendees of the play around the time PK used to be being conceptualised. “It used to be around the time PK used to be going down. Saumya Joshi, the though-provoking Gujarati writer, would in most cases be accompanied by his brother Abhijat and Raju Hirani. They attended practically every demonstrate,” shared Paresh.

The actor also revealed that he used to be practically solid as Dr. Asthana, the position later portrayed by Boman Irani in Munna Bhai MBBS. “I used to be speculated to fabricate Munna Bhai. We were discussing remuneration. In my mind, I needed ₹15 lakh, and coincidentally, Vidhu provided exactly that. However the formula he acknowledged, ‘I’ll give you ₹15 lakh’ — with self-esteem — irked me. So, out of plot, I demanded ₹50 lakh and refused to relief down,” he revealed.
Paresh added, “It used to be never about the money — it used to be about the vogue. Artistes are built otherwise. Whenever you happen to plot a hand on my shoulder and question correctly, I'd fabricate a film even for ₹1. But at the same time as you happen to throw attitude, I won’t work even for crores.”
Curiously, Paresh later portrayed the same position in Shankar Dada MBBS, the Telugu remake starring Chiranjeevi. Also, regardless of the previous disaggrement, he went on to collaborate with Vidhu Vinod Chopra again in Sanju, directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
