Vijayalakshmi Vadlapatla, who rose to popularity alongside with her stage title Silk Smitha, starred in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi movies. She started her occupation in supporting roles, then again it modified into as soon as her grand efficiency in 1979 Tamil movie Vandichakkaram that brought her into limelight.

Reportedly, attributable to monetary crisis, Silk needed to hasten away her early training. She bought married at the gentle age of 14 and suffered domestic abuse from her husband. After some time, she walked faraway from her poisonous marriage, leaving her husband’s house after which staying at her buddy’s space who modified into as soon as a makeup artist.

Silk started working as a makeup artist, and started visiting movie sets to work their professionally. She modified into as soon as then seen by Filmmaker Anthony Eastman, who gave her first break, and adjusted her future eternally.
