Caroline Woods: What's kind of a brain exercise that we can do. Obviously we have to read the book too, but can you give us kind of a simple one that we can do to tame the inner critic?
Rhett Power: Yeah, we call it the three C method. It's catch it. So what does that mean. It means understanding when you're having those negative conversations with yourself that are holding you back, that are stopping you from being brave, stopping you from being and doing those things that you want to do to have a better life or a better organization, a better company. So you're catching it. So what does that mean. It means understanding when you have those. And what I tell people to do is, take a couple of weeks and just write down when you have a negative thought that's getting in your way, or maybe hold you back, or maybe you struggle with. Write it down. So that's the catch it for a part, right? You want to start understanding when those voices are there. The confront part and the three C's is OK. Acknowledging that you're having those conversations with yourself and trying to understand where they come from, where is that coming from. Where is that fear coming from. Where is that imposter syndrome coming from that somebody, when you were a little kid, tell you you're not good enough to do that, you're not fast enough. You're not strong enough to do that. Where are those voices coming from. So you're confronting that dialogue. And then changing it. And then and that means listening to what you're saying to yourself, where it's coming from. And then saying, is that real. Is that I really listen to that voice. And is that telling me to do the right thing. And so that means changing the behavior, changing the conversation and, and starting to see the difference that makes in your life. When you can really do that, you know instantly when you have those thoughts.
