This powerful country has world’s most secure borders, even Donald Trump is a huge fan; Not US, Russia, UK, China, Turkey, or Israel, it is…

New Delhi: US President Doland Trump, while addressing a gathering in Pennsylvania, harped on the topic of strong border security. Trump said that while we have the strongest border in the world, we are far behind North Korea. North Korea has seven layers of electric fences, and one million volts of electricity pass through each wire.

He said that if you cross one, you die at the next wire. If you cross two, you set a record. Trump’s claim could not be verified. However, North Korea’s fencing is indeed very dangerous and deadly. Let’s find out where North Korea has installed electric fences…

China-North Korea Border

North Korea has high-voltage electric fencing along the Tumen and Yalu rivers on its border with China. 3300 volts of electricity pass through these wires. In 2023, electric fences were also installed around the new bridge on the Yalu River to prevent people from crossing the border into China under the cover of darkness.

Demilitarized Zone

The Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) is a buffer zone created to prevent military conflict between North and South Korea. It is an area approximately 250 km long and 4 km wide, established in 1953 under the armistice agreement that followed the Korean War.

No military or weapons are allowed inside the DMZ, while the armies of both countries maintain heavy security on their borders. There is also electric fencing here. Satellite images show that North Korea is also laying landmines and other security measures near the Demilitarised Zone.

How is the electricity supplied?

According to a reporter from Yanggang Province, the border fence in Baekam County is supplied with electricity from the Baekdu Mountain Selected Youth Power Plant. On the other hand, ordinary citizens in Hoeryong City only receive electricity for 3 to 4 hours a day.

A North Korean reporter said that now not even an ant can cross the border. Since the electricity was switched on, many people have been electrocuted, and some have died. It is said that an electric shock can be received even if one comes within a meter of the wire.

China’s Border Security

China has a normal border fence. China monitors its border using high-tech technology. Despite this, infiltration continues. In 2023, more than 65,000 cases of foreigners were investigated on charges of illegal entry, and approximately 26,000 people were deported.

Russia’s Border Security

Russia is the largest country in the world by area. Only a few countries share a border with Russia that has an electric fence. Russia also experiences a significant amount of illegal immigration. In 2024, 110,000 people were deported on charges of illegal entry.
