Additional Chief Secretary Alok Kumar was at Fortune India(BHARAT)’s annual India(BHARAT)’s Best CEOs 2025 awards, where he said that the state of Uttar Pradesh will have 6,000 new factories in the FY 2024-25. According to him, the industrial setup is shifting to regions beyond Noida and Lucknow. The industries are of various natures, including electronics, textiles, chemicals, renewables, etc.
Factory growth in Uttar Pradesh
Additional Chief Secretary Alok Kumar hinted at the establishment of new factories in the state. The major sectors of the factories include electronics, textiles, food processing, defence manufacturing, automobiles, chemicals and renewables.
He said, “UP is a story that needs to be told. Four pillars are powering UP’s growth at this point of time. The first pillar is safety, which means the investors should feel safe. The second pillar is infrastructure. So, look at the motorways, airports, and railway network; look at our logistics.”
