WATCH: 'CID' actress Vaishnavi Dhanraj accuses family members of assault, says 'my life is in danger' in a video
Television actor Vaishnavi Dhanraj on Friday accused her close family members of abusing and assaulting her.
Dhanraj, who has acted in the TV show C.I.D. among others, also posted a video on social media, showing her injuries.
In the video, she said, “I am in trouble, and my life is in danger. My family is not allowing me to move out. Right now, I am in the police. I’ve been abused by my family and I’m hit very badly. Please I need help from everybody from the media, news channels, and everybody in the industry. Please come and help me.”
After she lodged a complaint with Kashimira police station in Thane district, police registered a non-cognisable case against her mother and brother, an official said.
In a non-cognisable case, police can not initiate investigation or make an arrest unless there is a court order to that effect.
