In other business headlines, the Hollywood box place of job is getting a a lot needed dose of razzle-dazzle. The combo of Wicked and Gladiator 2, dubbed “Glicked” took in roughly $384 million on the weekend box place of job worldwide.

While that’s no longer pretty much as good as 2023’s box place of job blitz of “Barbenheimer”, Barbie and Oppenheimer, it’s still lifting hopes all across Hollywood. The box place of job is down roughly Eleven percent in 2024 when compared with the same time last year. And down 27 percent when compared with 2019.

The source of that hope is within the numbers. Wicked had the biggest debut of any Broadway adaptation in history - and the 1/3 biggest opening weekend of 2024. It took in $114 million in opening domestic weekend ticket sales. Add within the worldwide box place of job and the number goes as much as more than $164 million.

Gladiator 2 took in $56 million in North The u.s.. And as a consequence of a November headstart outside the U.S.,its box place of job haul to this point tops $220 million.

Hollywood hopes it would keep riding this wave through the holiday season with family favorite and proven box place of job draw: Moana 2.

That’ll do it to your Every day Briefing. From the New York Stock Exchange, I’m Conway Gittens with TheStreet.
