Will a war break out between Saudi Arabia and THIS powerful Muslim country after Royal Saudi Air Force attacks…?

New Delhi: Saudi Arabia launched an airstrike on the Yemeni port city of Mukalla on Tuesday, 30 December 2025. Saudi Arabia claims that a shipment of weapons intended for the separatist Southern Transitional Council (STC) was being delivered there. Saudi Arabia alleges that these weapons originated from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This attack is being seen as a sign of escalating tensions in the Yemeni war and growing differences between Saudi Arabia and the UAE. There are fears that a new front in the Middle East conflict is opening.

The Ships’ Tracking Systems Were Switched Off

According to the Saudi state news agency, two ships that arrived in Mukalla had come from the UAE’s Fujairah port. The ships’ tracking systems were switched off. A large number of weapons and military vehicles were being unloaded from the ships, intended to support the STC. Saudi Arabia stated that these weapons posed a serious threat to peace and security in Yemen. Therefore, the coalition air force carried out a limited airstrike.

Why Did Saudi Arabia Carry Out Attacks At Night?

The Saudi military said the attack was carried out at night to avoid harming civilians and surrounding areas. There are currently no reports of casualties or injuries from the attack. It is also unclear whether any country other than Saudi Arabia was involved in the operation.

The Ship Was In Fujairah On December 22

The UAE did not immediately comment on the attack. The AIC satellite channel, affiliated with the STC, confirmed the attack but provided few details. According to experts, the target of the attack was a ship identified as the Greenland, registered under the flag of Saint Kitts. Tracking data shows that the ship was in Fujairah on December 22 and arrived in Mukalla on Sunday, December 28.

Armoured Vehicles Seen on Mukalla Streets

Mohammed al-Basha, an expert on Yemeni affairs, said that videos have surfaced on social media showing new armoured vehicles driving on the streets of Mukalla. These vehicles were spotted in the city after the ship arrived. Saudi state television also showed images taken from a surveillance aircraft, which showed military vehicles gathering in one location. These vehicles match those seen on social media.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia had carried out airstrikes against the STC on Friday, December 26. Experts say these attacks were a warning to the STC to prevent them from advancing further into Hadramawt and Mahra provinces.
