‘Your father is going to die…’;Abhishek Bachchan was once asked about Amitabh Bachchan’s health; the reason will leave you shocked
Abhishek Bachchan once recalled a shocking moment when he was asked about Amitabh Bachchan’s critical health condition during his toughest days.
You might have wondered who that innocent child was who was asked such a harsh question at such a young age. A question he knew nothing about. He innocently wanted to play with his father, but little did he know that he was struggling between life and death. When he learned the truth, he was shaken to the core, and even after so many years, he hasn’t been able to forget the pain. This actor is none other than Abhishek Bachchan, who at a young age witnessed a grave reality before his eyes. His father was injured during a shooting, which almost threatened his life.
Abhishek got angry at his father for once in his life
This has been revealed in the book ‘Abhishek Bachchan: Style and Substance’ based on the life of Abhishek Bachchan. According to Abhishek, in 1982, when I was six years old, Pa was brought to our room in the West End Hotel in Bangalore. I jumped with joy and ran towards him, wanting to ride on his back. I did not realize that he was so badly injured. That was the first and last time he shook me off himself. I felt so bad about it that I remained angry for days.
Author and photographer Pradeep Chandra’s book contains numerous anecdotes from Junior Bachchan’s life. Abhishek recounts seeing his father writhing in pain in his room, but he remained angry with him. The next day, he and Shweta were flown to Mumbai. This was the first time they were traveling alone on a flight. Shortly after, Amitabh was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital.
Abhishek said his parents never let him realize how fragile his father was. However, he still had to face this harsh reality outside the home. According to Abhishek, one day at school, a child asked him, “Your father is going to die, isn’t he?” Six-year-old Abhishek was deeply shocked by this. He fainted. That very night, he had his first asthma attack.
