The Bangladesh police have arrested the prime accused in the killing of Hindu worker Dipu Chandra Das.
Dhaka: In a significant development amid the continued attack on Hindus in Bangladesh, the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus looks to have finally woken up. In the recent development, Bangladesh police has arrested former madrasa teacher Yasin Arafat, the prime accused in the killing of Hindu worker Dipu Chandra Das. For those unversed, Bangladesh Hindu Dipu Chandra Das was killed by a mob in Bangladesh on the 18th of December, 2025.
Bangladesh government takes action in Dipu Chandra Das killing
According to local media reports, the Bangladesh police have arrested the accused in the killing of Hindu worker Dipu Chandra Das. The report has also said that Yasin was arrested in Sarulia with the support from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
According to the report, 25 year old Yasin, 25 who is a resident of South Hobirbari in Valuka, allegedly led the mob that attacked Hindu boy Dipu at the factory gate. The report also said that Yasin played a key role in dragging his body to the Square Masterbari area in Mymensingh district and setting it on fire.
Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Hasina bashes anti-India(BHARAT) Yunus
In a separate development, Former Bangladesh Prime Minister and President of the Bangladesh Awami League, Sheikh Hasina slammed the interim government in the country headed by Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus. The former PM bashed the anti-India(BHARAT) Yunus government for allowing extremist groups to operate with total impunity and perpetrate unspeakable atrocities against Hindus.
“Responsibility lies with those who currently exercise power and have failed in their most basic duty: to protect all citizens equally. The surge in violence against minorities did not arise spontaneously. It has been enabled by an unelected administration that has tolerated, denied, or downplayed communal violence while allowing extremist groups to operate with total impunity,” Hasina told news agency IANS in an exclusive e-mail interview.
