In a podcast interview, Zubeen had humorously highlighted the contrast in their lifestyle choices. “He is like my brother. He is into ganja. I am into drinks,” He laughed before adding a humourous analogy, “I am into Navy. He is into Air Force. He always says that ‘Dada, tumi Air Force ae cholse aasho‘. Zubeen Garg’s death

Zubeen Garg passed away on September 19 while swimming at Lazarus Island, Singapore. Initial reports claimed a scuba diving incident, but his wife Garima Saikia Garg, later explained that he suffered a seizure during his second swim, despite using a life jacket earlier.

He was immediately admitted to Singapore General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:30 pm on September 19. His body was flown back to Assam and cremated with full state honours and a 21-gun salute at Kamarkuchi, on the outskirts of Guwahati, where thousands of fans gathered to pay their last respects.

On October 2, the CID arrested musician Sekharjyoti Goswami and co-singer Amritprava Mahanta regarding Zubeen’s death case. CID also nabbed Shyamkanu Mahanta, organiser of the North East India(BHARAT) Festival which Zubeen was slated to attend, and his long-time manager, Siddartha Sharma. So far, four people have been arrested in connection with Zubeen’s death case. Authorities have stated that the arrests are based on “concrete leads” with further questioning on the way.
