50 Muslim countries gather in Qatar after Israeli air strike on Doha, Pakistan naming at UN; outcome uncertain
This has further increased tension in the relations between the UAE and Israel.

New Delhi: The Arab Islamic Summit is being held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, from Monday, September 15, in which more than 50 Muslim countries are going to participate. This will be the first time after the Israeli attack on Doha, when such many Muslim countries will sit together. Muslim countries are already angry with what Israel did in Gaza, but after the attack in Qatar, the situation has completely changed. On top of that, the way Israel has reprimanded Pakistan by taking its name in the UN has increased the uneasiness of many countries.
Israeli attack on Qatar is the trigger
The Israeli attack on Qatar has also forced the Gulf Arab countries supporting America to unite. This has further increased tension in the relations between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel, who had normalized mutual relations in 2020. This emergency summit is bringing together members of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). On Sunday, 14 September 2025, a meeting of foreign ministers was held in which a draft resolution was discussed. Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit told Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, “this gathering is a message that Qatar is not alone, Arab and Islamic countries stand with it”.
Netanyahu’s ultimatum
When Muslim countries surrounded Israel over the September 9 attack, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear that wherever the enemies are hiding, we will attack them. He warned the Qatari government to either get the Hamas leaders out of there or bring them to justice, because if you don’t, we will. Qatar is trying to end the Gaza war that has been going on for almost two years. Qatar has accused Israel of ending the possibilities of peace.
UAE also angry with Israel
UAE, an ally of America and the most prominent Arab country to normalize relations with Israel under the Abraham Accord, also appeared angry with this attack. On Friday, it summoned the Israeli Deputy Ambassador on this issue and described Netanyahu’s recent statements as hostile. The UAE said that Qatar’s stability is an integral part of the security and stability of all member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), including Saudi Arabia.
Difficult time for Trump
US President Doland Trump expressed unhappiness over Israel’s attack. He said that this step has not advanced the goals of either Israel or America. Trump described Qatar as a close ally who is trying hard to bring peace. He also said that eliminating Hamas is a laudable goal. After the attack, he told Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani that “such an incident will never happen again on their land.” Netanyahu said on Saturday, September 13, that removing Hamas leaders living in Qatar would remove the main obstacle to the release of hostages still held in Gaza, and pave the way to ending the war that began with Hamas attacks on 7 October 2023.
