The Delhi HC has granted Telugu actor Nagarjuna Akkineni protection of his personality rights, preventing unauthorized use of his name, image, and voice online.

The Delhi HC on Thursday ruled on a petition filed by Telugu actor Nagarjuna Akkineni seeking protection of his personality rights. Nagarjuna received significant protection from the High Court. The court agreed to protect his personality and publicity rights after he raised concerns about the unauthorized use of his name, image, and voice online.
Court Verdict on Personality Rights
According to a Bar & Bench report, the court’s action came on Nagarjuna’s petition alleging misuse of his identity, ranging from pornographic content, unauthorized merchandising, and AI-generated videos. During Thursday’s hearing, Justice Tejas Karia stressed the importance of protecting such rights in today’s rapidly changing technological environment. During the hearing, Justice Tejas Karia said, “When you can identify the URLs, the best thing to do is to order their removal. We will pass the order.”
Nagarjuna’s Response
After the hearing, Nagarjuna thanked the court and his legal team. He wrote on social media, “Thank you to the Honorable Delhi High Court for protecting my personality rights in the digital age.
