After Pakistan military, Pakistani police targeted by terrorists, 7 cops killed in daring attack
A truck loaded with explosives rammed into the main gate of the police training centre.

New Delhi: Pakistani Taliban (TTP) terrorists carried out a major attack in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, October 10 night. The terrorists attacked a police force training centre, killing 7 policemen, while security forces killed 5 attackers. This attack is a major blow to Pakistan’s internal security, which has seen a 46% increase in terrorist incidents in recent days.
Ratta Kulachi police training centre attacked
Around 9 p.m. Friday night, a truck loaded with explosives rammed into the main gate of the police training centre in the Ratta Kulachi area and detonated. The blast caused a portion of the centre’s wall to collapse, killing one policeman on the spot. Subsequently, 7-8 armed terrorists entered the centre and began firing indiscriminately. The attackers also used grenades and other weapons.
Attackers included suicide bomber
In a nearly six-hour encounter, security forces killed all five to six attackers, including a suicide bomber. Suicide vests, explosives, and ammunition were recovered from the attackers. Over 200 police personnel and recruits present at the centre were safely evacuated, averting a major tragedy. Thirteen other police personnel were injured and hospitalised. The deceased include an officer and other constables.
Ittehadul Mujahideen Pakistan behind attack
The TTP initially claimed responsibility for the attack but later denied it. Some social media accounts claimed responsibility under the name Ittehadul Mujahideen Pakistan (IMP). The attackers also livestreamed the attack using body cameras. Initial reports in the Pakistani media circulated rumours of over 50 police casualties, but official sources refuted this claim, clarifying that only seven were killed. There were also reports of pressure from the Pakistani military regarding the report by ARY News journalist Zafar Naqvi.
Growing terrorism in Pakistan
This attack is another example of the growing terrorism in Pakistan. According to a report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), incidents of violence in Pakistan increased by 46% in the third quarter of 2025. Attacks by the TTP and other groups are occurring almost daily in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
