At FMS 2025, SanDisk has announced its transformative UltraQLC(tm) technology platform which has presented a 256TB NVMe(tm) enterprise-level SSD now having a record-setting storage capacity. UltraQLC platform is an AI-focused, data-intensive workload platform that integrates BiCS8 QLC NAND, custom controllers, and system optimizations to bring outstanding capacity, performance and energy efficiency.

This next-gen SSD is suitable to hyperscale cloud deployments, which allows faster data processing, accelerated latency reduction and improved bandwidth with the reduced cost of ownership. Important innovations involve Direct Write QLC technology to enable power-loss safe writes, as well as BiCS8 2Tb QLC dies that can provide a doubling of density, scalable multi-core controllers, and a high-performance per-watt power optimization (up to 10 percent more performance per watt). Also, the Data Retention profile will increase reliability with fewer recycles, increasing drive endurance.

SanDisk is providing a 128TB version alongside the 256TB one, and it also plans to provide a 128TB variant in U.2 form factor in the first half of 2026. These innovations represent a massive step forward in hyperscale flash storage that helps enterprises tackle the increased requirements of the AI age with reliable, high capacity, and energy efficient solutions.

SanDisk also seeks to enable businesses to accelerate, to perform even more tasks and to turn data into valuable innovation, taking enterprise storage to a new level, using the UltraQLC platform.
