Several significant online platforms faced interruptions on Monday, including Amazon’s Cloud Service, AWS, Robinhood, Snapchat, and Perplexity AI, according to Downdetector, an outage-monitoring site. The outages appeared to come from Amazon Web Services, which underlies a notable segment of the internet’s backend infrastructure.
As per Downdetector, more than 2,000 outages of AWS services were reported in the US, and a number of users complained about being unable to access different digital services and apps. The monitoring site also reported connectivity issues on several of Amazon’s own services, like Amazon.com, Prime Video, and the Alexa virtual assistant.
