New Delhi: Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Awami League leader Sheikh Hasina extended her heartfelt greetings to the nation on the occasion of Shardiya Navratri. In her message, she highlighted the serious challenges facing the country and expressed hope that the Awami League will once again overcome these challenges and re-establish its independence.
What did Hasina say in her message?
In her message, Hasina said, “On this occasion of Shardiya festival, I send my heartfelt greetings and love to all my countrymen. Along with the rituals and prayers, the social and cultural aspects of this festival are important to all of us, making it universal, transcending religion and caste.” Last year, student protests against the quota system turned violent, forcing Sheikh Hasina to flee the country on August 5. She has been living in India(BHARAT) since then.
Bangladesh in the grip of extremist groups: Hasina
Underlining the spirit of unity and mutual love of the people of Bangladesh, she said that today the country is in the grip of conspirators and extremist groups who are engaged in politics to divide the people and destroy the country. The Awami League will fight this resolutely. Hasina condemned the multifaceted violence against Hindu minorities living in Bangladesh after August 5 last year, which shocked the entire world.
Sheikh Hasina said, “Earlier, Durga Puja in Bangladesh was mostly celebrated within families, but now community (Barowari) Durga Puja is more prevalent. The multifaceted violence against Sanatan Dharma followers after August 5 last year has shocked the entire world. Even in this terrible period of persecution of religious minorities, I extend my best wishes to all the followers of Sanatan Dharma in Bangladesh.”
Will eradicate all evils and bring happiness: Hasina
She expressed hope that these days of Shardiya Navratri will eradicate all evils and bring happiness, and that Bangladesh will once again become a country that celebrates communal harmony and religious diversity. She said, “We will stand together in every joy and sorrow.”
Sheikh Hasina concluded her message with the slogan “Jai Bangla, Jai Bangabandhu,” saying, “May darkness turn into dawn, may Bangladesh live forever.”
